Helping To Build The Future For The Past Thirty Years

Lycoming County is burdened with an aging housing stock and a slowly declining growth in most municipal centers. Simply stated, our city centers are not attractive places to live, work and raise a family. The cause of population decline is simple-people leave. Why people leave, or return for that matter, is of special interest to our organization. Our objective is to build communities from within- from within neighborhoods and within the hearts and minds of people. We support the formation of partnerships between organizations that share the mission of building neighborhoods by rebuilding homes and combating blight. Our most feared enemy is perception. Our most cherished ally is perception. Our initiatives are designed to strengthen neighborhoods and to fight negative perception by building community pride.

"It's not about making your community a better place. It's not about service being good for your soul. It is more fundamental, almost primal. It is what the species instinctively want to do: to perpetuate itself by leaving something behind; to make a mark that lasts; to make ourselves count." --Bill Shore,The Cathedral Within
